This is the DIY thread I found.

DIY: 335i Exhaust Sound Mod. Better, and even easier than golf tee mod



It said nothing about E93s which as you know, are nothing like it's brethren.

I searched and while 1 or 2 other members figured it out, they selfishly left the rest of us in the dark.

Here the pictures show the location of the plug you need to disconnect.

There are two plastic plugs holding the covering panel over it. I have not figured out how to remove them. I even tried to break one off and just replace. They are very durable.

If anyone can post up how to remove them to gain *easy access to the plug, that would be great!

You dont have to pop out those two retainer plugs.

Neither end of the connector are secured to any part of the car. I reached in with a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled the connector as close to me at the wires would permit.

I then pushed the metal retainer ring to disconnect it and while pushing in, pulled the plug apart.

Hate to be a sore thumb, but is t keeping the valve open at all times pointless....?

I say this because from what I understand the valve is ONLY closed when the car is warming up. After that and under normal load I would imagine the valve is always open to help regulate temps and back pressure once the engine/turbos are hot.

Or does it actually stay loud ALL the time as in WOT?

Can you get a better pic posted of which plug needs to be unplugged? Also, are you getting fault codes from this?
