A few questions??

Hi guys,

My insurance is up for renewal with lloyds tsb and I was just wondering could anybody recommend a good insurance company?what are BMW like? And also is it worth getting alloy wheel and tyre insurance and if so what companies do this?

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I am very confused as to what to do

Thanks a million guys

go to gocompare.com and that will give you all you need to know. if the quotes are close, go back to your original insurer and ask them to beat it!
No need to get separate insurance on wheels and tyres

If you have runflats, i think tyre insurance is quite useful... i got 2 tyres replaced for free...

I've used Churchill for the past 4/5 years, no issues - I only moved as they were so cheap for my Type R, so far had 1 claim through them settled with no issues, my partner has also had a claim through them with without any major issues.

prior to that I used LV (Still have home insurance with them) but didnt ever have to use them for claims

Is the BMW tyre insurance worth having?

Cormac- just renewed with BMW Insurance. They weren't quite the cheapest (not far off though) but IMO, the benefits outweigh the slight extra cost - repairs done by BMW dealer, proper courtesy car, etc.

I had a Golf R32 insured through Admiral that got crashed into (not my fault) - ended up with a 10 year old Micra as a courtesy car and the work was done in the most grim part of East London in a very dodgy looking body shop - never ever again!

£460 for me (35) and my wife (32), "safe" postcode, 6 years no claims for me, clean license.

Just got a quote from them as well and very impressed with the benefits and the figure-mine is a little higher due to my diabetes unfortunately and I had a claim in January for my E46 cabriolet where some little runt stole the hard top! But the quote matches my current insurer so am converted!

Call me old-fashioned if you will, but I prefer face-to-face contact so I stick with Swinton.
I'm paying £420 for myself (61) and partner (56) for my E92 330d M Sport and that includes protected NCD with Aviva.

depends where you live I think. I live in Camberley and pay abotu £450 for a e90 320D M sport. with A-plan as broker with access being 0 if I make one my fault claim in year, everything protected etc. My dad on a M-reg mondeon living in croydon pays £390.

Give A-plan a call as they do BMW club members discount and also try TEscos as found them to be very cheap as well, though this year did not go with them as needed the europe cover and thats extra with them. While with A-plan 90 days is included

You see , you have to know your rights.

You may choose whatever body shop you wish to repair your car.
You dont have to use the 'insurance approved' one.
I never have, and for the same reasons you mention above.

As for ANOTHER insurance thread, what a complete waste of time.
No two people or circumstances are the same so its a total and utter poinless thread.
IMO.
