Run flats, Run flat winters, warranty?

The car is a 328i on a 3 year lease (Probably on buyback at the end of the lease) and comes with runflats. How long do they last? If I no longer wanted run flats could I buy regular tires?

How about the winter run flat tires they offer for 1700$? These come with wheels but they are heavy and I would rather just get the tire to swap out with the BMW wheels every season. In this case, could I just get regular Blizzak or comparable tires, which are around $400-500?

And as for the wheel and tire warranty...It is quite expensive to replace a runflat in case of a puncture due to a pothole. Is this common, and is the warranty worth it?

+ If I purchased the wheel and tire warranty, and decided to get regular tires when the runflats were used up, would those tires be covered? Would regular Blizzak winters be covered under the warranty?

I'm in the same boat as u. I leased, but I'll probably buy it out at the end of the lease.
In regards to the tire insurance, they told me that it covers any tire that you have on the vehicle. I still have to read the small print. I got the warranty to cover my RFT. One flat and the ins. pays for itself.

For winter I bought aluminum rims and regular winter tires and they work great for comfort. I like the RFT for the summer I find that the car is tighter and more sportier.
I didn't get RFT winters because the dealer charged me $3400, and I've got the regular ones for $1400.
