Hi all, sooo many holagen/angel eyes/led/xenon threads im confused.
What is standard colour on an e90 lci sept 2010 build, seen some nice colours more blue and white on the road that really stand out I cant imagine these are all modders. Im hoping its just standard? Trust me i have tried this ----> and there are tooo many threads!! |

Standard colour will be 4300K. The blue/purple/white effect is just the different wavelengths of light you see at slightly different angles.

Oh right, i have seen threads refferring to numbers, i assumed that was brightness.
Just so i have this right, you can modify the wavelength to get a slighty different shade of colours? |

You can by replacement bulbs with different "colour temperatures". You can't easily modify existing bulbs.
The different colours you see from Xenon headlamps are to do with the way the light is split through the lens in front of the bulb and the angle you view it at. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature Colour temperature in bulbs ranges from yellow light to blue light with only a small range of colour being useful for lighting the road. 4300K is the colour temp that (I think) all OE xenon bulbs are, and are the whitest, brightest colour.
Aftermarket bulbs can be bought with temperatures right through to 9000K which is almost purple. 5000K and 6000K are acceptable IMO, but any further than 6000K is too blue to light the road sufficiently. |

wow you guys know your stuff, so what i saw may well have all been the same however a different angle may have distorted the colour. Although 5000k would be more likely to chuck out a whiter light
