Alarm system on the 323i

I have a 2007 BMW 323i and I don't know if this car even has an alarm or not.

can someone please advise?

It more than likely it does not. if you call your dealer and give them your vin number they can confirm that for you.

I sincerely doubt it has it.

On a 2008 335i e90 sedan, the alarm was not standard. pathetic.

They all have that, even without the alarm.

323i= no alarm AFAIK

Alarm's are not standard on all 3 series in Canada. However, you can always try holding the trunk release button for 3 seconds to see if the alarm sounds.

I had to get mine through the "executive package". really pathetic.

The LCIs doesn't even have the clown nose on the mirror, or the prewire for it.

The Pre-LCI, as far as I know, has pre-wire, so you can get the alarm, install it yourself (if you are capable) and get the dealer to program it if you really want it.

I have an LCI and I have alarm and clown nose on my mirror. That alarm is pretty loud

having a brand new 2007 BMW 323i with no alarm is just really stupid, I also do have the little red bulb looking thing on the bottom of my rear view mirror but it does not flash, it's just there. I thought all BMW's come with alarm.. I guess not.

I will have to purchase one of my own than.

It's an easy install.

I can help you if you end up buying the system from Tischer. However you will still require the alarm to be programmed at the dealer.

The word around the forum is that cars built prior to 3/09 are prewired... But my 1/09 production car isn't! No prewire or clown nose.

BTw, the easiest way to check if you are prewired, is to look under the hood for the hood switch connector, or pull down the plastic cover on your roof liner behind the sunroof and look for the ultasonic sensor connector. Check out the alarm DIY page for the official BMW instructions pdf and photos of where to check the above items.

You got it.

I have no idea why BMW didn't finish putting the alarm system in, I mean for the extra few bucks and piece of mind it would give all owns I think it's more then worth it and why would they pre-wire the car for it as well.

I am going to try clicking the trunk button and see if it alarms.. I highly doubt it though.
