Just wanted to know what car would have the advantage head to head in a quarter mile drag race?

You probably don't even need a tune. Boxsters are pretty slow.

if it is a boxster S, all you need is a tune.

to beat a Boxster Spyder you would need a tune and some bolt-ons.
12-8 qtr mile http://www.insideline.com/porsche/bo...and-video.html to beat a Boxster S you would need at least a tune and some bolt-ons 13 qtr mile http://www.scribd.com/doc/30886847/M...omparison-Test (page 10 for specs) from what i was reading it looks like you would need real experience to get those qtr mile times from either porsche. good luck hope this helps |

Semi-fast acceleration, they do like corners.
Guessing the S is more or less the same in a straight line but in turns you'll have problems if driver skills are equal. |

i raced the new 2010 boxster s cab, and it had a full catback exhaust and possible other mods. He beat me by half a car length when i was completely stock. With map 5 and a dci, you'll take him 100%

I had a smackdown on the autobahn with a cayman back in 2007 when I did Ed. I thought those things were bloody quick, but was shocked the guy stayed behind my barely broken in 335i all the way to my limited 152mph? He just gave up switched lanes and slowed down when we hoit 150mph. I think they might be limited too like our cars, and he was not going for the embrassment. I was not gain much on him in the upper ranges, but I put 2 car lengths on him going from a rolling 45mph? So I'd think even stock 335i will do the trick as long as you are on the highway not some backroads.

I don't mean to hijack, but I don't think it's a good idea to open another thread like this one... in any case... what about a stock 370Z? Has anybody raced one?
I raced a 350Z a couple of days ago from a dead stop. I didn't want to launch my baby so I took it easy off the line, the guy did launch his. I walked him pretty easily and shut it down at the beginning of 4th. I believe he was stock but no way to tell because he didn't put his window down at the next light... all I wanted to do was giving him . I am sure a stock 370Z would be even or maybe even a hair faster... thoughts? -Walter

Haven't run one yet , but stock should be a driver's race with the 335.
See: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...an_370z_page_5 The new Z is not bad, good value for the money imo. |
