Which Blacklines do you like?

OK so theres several e90 rear lights black/white lines on the market that Im choosing from.

first to choose is Bulb vs. LED .... Im leaning towards LED

then there variations of the blacklines.

these are some that I found..

1.Smoked LED, Yellowish back up light

2. White LED, not sure backup light but probably yellow

3. Smoked Bulb (Depo)

X2 on OEM, after seeing the difference in person they are worth the extra $50 or so

Well that's subjective, but my opinion is yes.

Aftermarket LED lights usually use cheap LED assemblies sourced from China and they rarely last very long. Do yourself a favor and buy the OEM blacklines, you will regret the aftermarket ones.

Can someone tell me the origin of blackline taillights? Do they come on e90's from the factory in a certain market? I think they look like Honda Civic tails circa 2000. I don't really see a point in replacing the USDM OEM's for blacklines.

Smoked LED gets my vote, I think it's a clean look.

They don't offer blacklines yet but we do have smoked lens film that you can install over the existing headlights.

They are just an accessory offered by BMW for those who prefer the style over the OEM tails which are "too red" for a lot of us. They were never mounted from the factory, and have only been offered as a BMW accessory. FWIW I would wait to see a set in person before passing judgement, I wasn't crazy about them in pictures but seeing them in person and I was sold.

OEM, IMO

After that, the Depo's. I hate it when i see a car with one or 2 LEDs out in the tails

From what I remember, OEM Blacklines are not as smoked as the DEPO ones so they look better on different cars. On Sparkling Graphite, DEPO looks best, where as any of the brighter colors or alpine white the OEM would look better.

with a 8-5 win (Smoked bulb vs. Smoked LED) Smoked Bulb gets the win. Guess I will be ordering the smoked bulb housing set today.

Reasoning:
1. LEDs have way more singular parts so more chances that can burn out etc..
2. LEDs can seem to have a cheap look to them
3. Going with OEM bulb units and aftermarket blackline housing

The 3 light bars on both non-oem taillights do not continue around the corner of the housing to the side; that right there is reason enough to go to oem
