EPL upgraded Turbo on e93 Review
Hey guys...finally getting around to doing a review on these babies.
Installation: Went to see Matt@Camber-toe in Lynbrook LI to get these things put on. Once I gave him the part numbers for everything he needed he went right to work. I have to say that he is absolutely amazing with these cars...he can really do any install u want...even custom if you need. He took 1 day to get my old turbos off and new ones on. Even though he says he would like for it to be a 2 day job, since this was his first upgraded turbo install he did it in a day.:drinking: He even helped with the data logging before I got my car back. Initial Impressions when i first drove it: I got my car back on a 94 degree day so I knew what I was going to experience was not going to be optimal power But that didnt really matter because it felt more powerful than my car on racegas. At 3000rpm your at max power ALL THE WAY TO THE END. Literally Felt like I as in a more powerful 3rd gear EVERY SHIFT. And it as hot as hell outside. The power delivery is smooth too. I have an AT and will be keeping an eye out to see how well it should hold up. When the temps came down to 68 degrees late that night: HOLY FAK OK I have driven a stock C63 AMG and it pulls crazy up top....but this makes no damn sense. I pinned my speedo faster than I ever have before and it was STILL GOING SUPER STRONG. The power these things make up top is really rediculous....Lost marine can vouch for what im saying im sure...it was still nice and smooth but pulling and pulling. One thing I have noticed is the weather plays a more prevalent role in the power and efficiency of these turbos....if its hot out you will really notice the power loss(but its still fast as hell) but MAN...when it gets cool out these things party like its 1999. EPL did their homework with these babies. For those who are curious: My car was doing a consistant 4.7 0-60 on pump on my vbox. Now its down to 4.4 on pump all day on RFTs...when i get my toyo R888s back on i may be able to do 4.3 IN A CONVERTIBLE!!!!! I will be headed to the dyno as soon as EPL lets me know when i can go. I have been sending Terry logs like mad and everything seems to look great he says...then e can work on improving it:happy Thanks Terry

Congrats! I think I'm missing out a lot since I'm still driving stock. At least I can live through other people experiences... for a while.

I'd really like to see some videos from the OP or JPSimon!
JP-- I actually talked to EPL last week regarding this and we talked a bit about your car (that the guy, Ryan I think, actually had taken to lunch that day, haha) and made me even more tempted to do this. Damn |

This makes me want to install my CT upgraded turbos already. I'm waiting for the warranty to run out though - 7k more miles.
