Number plate plinth missing on new e93 lci
hello forum. i have just gone to see my new e93 which was just delivered to the dealership and i noticed that where the front number plate is attached the plint is missing. on my current july 2008 e93 the number plate sits on top of the plint (see pics) the dealer says that they are not fitted as they are a cost saving measure by bmw but i think i am being fobbed off. are there any members out there who have the plinth on their new e9x lci if yes would really appreciate some pics to show my dealer.
many thanks forum |

I'm visiting my local dealership tomorrow; I'll try to remember to have a look at cars in the showroom and let you know. |

They're shown as on realoem as a loose part for order and it says "quote colour when ordering" so they must be provided ready painted.
I'm sure it's a dealer decision whether they buy these in IMO. Maybe the coupes have had these from the factory, but they're shown on E90/1 too on realoem, but both mine have not had them from new. odd. |

take your old one off and keep it, get sprayed to match
and i'm not joking..... ive seen plenty without the plinth prefacelift too so the dealer shouldn't mind...

the radar cruise is a great featrure especially since i do alot of long distance driving. the only 2 niggles is there is no stop and go version for the 3 series and every now and then whilst passing a vehicle it will suddenly apply the emergency brakes which can be quite scary especially if there is a vehicle behind me. i am picking up the new lci model end of the month so i hope they have improved on it.

I've got the active cruise control on my (new, 2010) 330d.
Can't say i've experienced the sudden braking when passing that you have described. My cruise control disconnects when speed drops to about 18-20mph. I even use it sometimes on local 30mph limit streets if there are a lot of speed cameras. I would like the stop-and-go version which also AFAIK has collision warning even when the cruise control is not active... I'm wondering if I should have coughed up another £8k for a 5-series.... |
