Pic Request: E92 with Lowering springs
Like the title states I am looking for any pics of Coupes with aftermarket springs.
I would really like to see Sport as opposed to Race, but any will help. The e92 has a BIG gap in the front, not in the back. My concern is that if I lower all the way around, the back will be too low. Most spring specs I have seen show only a 1/4" difference in front back, so I am afraid I'll end up in the same situation! Please post pics!! Thanks |

Hey Picus. Pic says H&R race, but those pics look like sport?
Is that Sport or Race? If that is Sport, that's the way I'm leaning. |

Question regarding installing these springs. I have read post on other forums saying installing stiffer lowering springs can be bad for the stock shocks and cause premature wear. Does this hold true for our sport package equipped 3-series when installing something like the H&R sport springs?

It depends on the drop and the shocks, so it's hard to say. With a subtle drop like H&R sports and the already pretty decent sport suspension shocks odds are it'll be ok but it never hurts to get better shocks. If you went from a non-sport suspension e90 to like H&R race it'd be more of a concern.

I had to get an alignment. Shortly after getting the car lowered, I had the stability control and break light turn on. Took it to the dealer and they said I needed an alignment. I guess a steering sensor was off. After the alignment, no problems at all. The ride quality is comparableto stock also (if not better).

[QUOTE=praecurvo;715729]So nice. Just a sweet tuck indeed. But I have a question. You mentioned that you brought it to the dealer and they told you that an alignment was necessary, due to your sensors alerting. Did they do it and did they charge you?
I had the car at the dealer because of the warning lights so I just had them do the alignment. They did charge me, but I expected that since the alignment was off due to the spring install. I know I could of gotten a cheaper alignment elsewhere, but I felt more comfortable with them doing the work since they have more experience with the car, plus the car was already there getting checked out. Also they gave me a loaner car for the day while the work was being done.

It was about $80 more then another shop I checked with. So it was worth the dealer doing it, or else I would of had to take additional time off work to get it done elsewhere, not worth the hassel.
