I think the more comparable solution would be the DO stage 2 to the CM VC2 kit without the flow sensor. I run the VC-2 kit on my car with the integrated 1.5G Tank and I really like it. I have a few customers running the CM basic kit and they love it, but I usually recommend getting a controller of some sort like the CMGS or VC-2.

DO Kit hands down. The cm tank has major issues that requires custom work that doesnt always work and results in air bubbles. The CM kit is also extremely expensive compared to the DO kit. The cm kit also has horrible check valve placement, so when incase your line has a leak, you now also have a boost leak ontop of the meth leak. If you are running a procede, get the basic DO kit and the labonte failsafe for the same price as a basic CM kit. I own the DO kit and have had zero issues. My buddy got the CM kit and so far we had to replace the old nozzles, which got stuck in the bung, the line is completly replaced due to old crap line that was provided with the kit. The boost switch sensor was replaced with more easy to read/dial in METAL boost sensor. And the 1.5 gal tank was replaced with a traditional 4qart tank due to the air bubbles. Technically, its a CM pump, with everything else upgraded.

^ thats me...
Cm's CMGS is nice.. However from a kit standpoint, I dont like their tank. Constantly got air despite the efforts made to fix it. At that point, taking the CMGS and other flow sensor gauges from various companies out of the equation and the tank, all other kits are pretty universal at that point. Pumps are universal, Lines are universal, and DO and CM nozzles despite what either suggest dont seem to have any differences in gains. Last but not least is the fittings, and again DO wins there with my experience as the CM fittings are simply hard to disconnect despite being a "quick connect", its an "impossible disconnect". Take that into the equation, I didnt like the CM meth switch either as it didnt have a precise way to dial in boost pressure on/off compared to the DO. In the end I convereted a CM kit, into a DO kit, running a CM pump, and custom parts. I think I just answered the question.... although I still like the CMGS gauge even though I dont currently run one. |

Actually the basic DO and basic CM kit is not even close in price. Price them both out with a 250 pump. Last time you did that you were paying about 100 dollars more for the cm basic kit due to price of the CRAP 1.5 gallon tank it comes with.
http://www.alcohol-injection.com/uni...stage-1-8.html 240 dollars add 30 bucks or so for a tank. 270 http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmai...0PSIStandardTM $370. 100 buks more expensive. Their basic kits with a 250psi pump and regular tank is 300 bucks 150psi pump basic kit, 260....choice should be easy lol. Last edited by Clap135; 08-16-2010 at 04:21 PM.. |

When comparing kits make sure you compare the tanks, as the 1.5G quick mount tank or as you call it the CRAP tank, is an upgraded tank. If you opt for the basic 1G tank its 100.00 less. The CM basic kit with the 250PSI pump and the basic tank is about 249.00 Mike |

http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmai...d=cmstage1tank looks like 260 bucks and it says nothing about a 250psi pump. So im assuming its a standard 150psi pump |

The tank is JUNK! Downgrade FAIL. Only reason anyone should be emotional about this tank is the fact that it would have blown my car up had the DME not responded to its FAIL design. |

lmao, upgrade.
http://www.alcohol-injection.com/2-5...-tank-346.html thats an upgrade, and its 1 gal bigger, has baffles and sumps so you don't run into air bubbles unless you have 1 quart left. Last edited by Clap135; 08-16-2010 at 05:37 PM.. |

Definitely some anger in this thread..

After you install the barb fitting into the tank with the drill, remove the fitting by reversing the drill and cut a 7 inch section of hose and insert into the bottom of the fitting just as shown. No glue or tape is required. Now install the fitting by inserting the hose in the tank and tightening the fitting by hand. Once its hand tighten you can use a wrench to completely tighten. This hose is a pickup tap that keeps the system from drawing in air and allows you to use almost the entire tank before filling up. You must install the fitting as below so it goes all the way across the tank. Failure to do this will cause the system to draw air in. The plastic hose will fit in the fitting just like below without any glue. It will stay in place. Mike Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 08-16-2010 at 06:37 PM.. |
