The last time I had bumper holes filled was on my (long gone) '06 Civic coupe. I had a guy do it that does the 'bumper repair' for all the local dealerships. I guess even new car lots have their fair share of bumper scrapes on the new cars so it seems like they'll pick a pretty good body/touch-up paint guy to come by once a month to do all the cars needing a touch-up. Maybe act real friendly with someone at a big dealership and find out who does this locally? Should be a lot cheaper to work a side deal with someone like this rather than take it to a shop. At least that was my theory
Oh, I would be bit wary of a "fill and spray" method on anything but a flat color. Metallic seems like it would be tough to blend. |

Actually the cheapest, easiest and best looking solution is the Black Panel plugs sold at Lowes and Home Depot in the special connector bins. You can get them as small as 1/4 inch diameter ans they fit flush to the bumper. cost is about $ 0.69. Those with other colors than Black can just paint them with touch up paint. Awesome solution for the money.
I had my bumper filled and painted so I didn't need them for my bumper holes, but I used a 3/4 diameter black plug on my key hole and it fits perfectly. Just had to trim the portion that stick into the keyhole to fit. and now its covered and still accessible if I ever have to use the key to get into the car! |
