20 watt LED angel eyes?
Has anyone put 20 watt LED's in e90 angel eyes? I've replaced mine with 10watt ones.

Hmmm im not sure how that'll end up. But from my past readings about the angel eyes on the E90, the optics were plastic, so at a certain point, the brightness of the angel eyes peak

That looks a lot like this part: http://www.virtualvillage.com/ultra-...01540-023.html
Where did you find that LED chip and what did it cost you? Is the heatsink necessary? |

Well the problem is - how are you going to power it, and Also, how are you going to cool it. If you find a power supply that can put out the right amperage for the LED, its going to get so hot so fast.
If you are still using the original power supply, then you are going to get almost 0% increase from the 2 LED's that are on there. The only way to make that kit brighter is to get higher efficency LED's. If the LED you replace it with is double efficency, then you will have 2x the amount of light. That led in the first picture is not very efficent, so you will not get much light. I made my own custom set for my e90, and they are drawing about 20 watts total. they are bright as anything, but there is plenty of heat sinking going on as well because they get HOT. |
