Updated software + JB3?
As most of you know, many are not fans of the new software update bmw is handing out when you bring your car in for service.
The car....feels slower and the turbos dont spool up as quick as the use to (well at least i think) Now with the JB3, does it re-write over the existing software and have its own map? or just add psi to the existing software and set up? I apologize if this thread is not clear. easier way to get my point across is. If your 335i has original software and added the jb3, would it have more power then a updated software 335i with a JB3? |

JB3 is a piggyback. It does not rewrite anything in the ECU. Depending on what is set up inb the new software update that is causing the "lag", the JB3 or any Piggyback may or may not have anything setup to address it. For instance if the new software is leaving your wastegates open or slightly open, I believe both JB3 and Proceed address and modify that.

I don't think there are noticeable power differences with the various BMW software's (lag issues aside) either stock or tuned so you are good either way. We have had many customers who run the JB3 upgraded to the latest software and they aren't reporting any issues or noticeable changes in the cars behaviour.
