JB+ Code Question
I was considering getting the jb+ and just leaving it on the default setting so I don't have to buy the BT tool. I was just wondering if anyone has throw a code staying on the default setting. I remember reading one person did, I don't know if that was just a fluke. I know it would be smart just to the the tool...But I would rather just not do it at all If I have to spend $300+ for everything. Thanks guys

There's always a chance of throwing a code but in all honesty the chances are REALLY low. At 75% you won't throw a code at 85% to 100% you have a very small chance but you might. I threw 2 codes at 100% then backed it off to 85% and have been fine since. $300 is cheap for the gain you will get plus you have peace of mind to clear codes IF you throw any which I doubt.

Couldn't have been tune related at 50%... What codes were they?

50%-80% at various time for 8 months with no codes. If you can stand to leave well enough alone, JB+ @ 50% is EXACTLY how I would have imagined the car could have been from the factory. Once you start turning up the juice, the car looses a bit of that linear smoothness. I'm running at around 80%? now with the by-pass and it feels really strong but definitely not stock.
Bottom line - leave it at 50% and you'll be fine. Turn it up and you'll need the BT. I think the BT is worthwhile anyway to be honest. There's alot you can do with it and if you plan on keeping the car a while it will pay for itself many times over. |

Good info, thanks guys.
Still don't get how Williame92 threw a code at default, unless it was unrelated? More info please... How do you guys like it at the default setting?? Big difference? or just noticeable, thanks again!! |

Threw a 2D18 at default setting, definitely tune related. Default setting w/o solenoid bypass.
It was in the winter months though, and I've been running at 75% with the bypass all summer with no issues. |
