Successful Shades of Gray Tint Group Buy

Today was the Shades of Gray (SOG) tint group buy. Thanks to SOG and all of the participants here from the forums for making this a successful group buy!!

I am extremely happy with their service and how my car turned out. If anyone is considering tint for their cars, definitely go to Shades of Gray!

Agreed - thanks so much everyone! Really loving my 40% so far...even after like 2 days I'm already wondering why I didn't tint it sooner haha

The SoG facility is awesome and those guys are really fast...they def don't mess around.

I got a couple pics while there too. This one was from up high but came out a bit blurry. Bah.

i actually didn't tint over mine or vinyl it - we did right up to the first couple lines where it starts and left the rest w/o tint. GTIceman (who got 30%) did vinyl at the top of his but Ryan (who did my car) suggested that with 40% it was a more subtle transition to just leave it untinted than to have a big solid line of vinyl up there.

i'll upload a pic of what it looks like today but he said the transition will be even less noticeable as the tint settles and lays more evenly over the dots and the rest of those lines on the back window. it could be a couple weeks before it looks as good as it's going to get.

So I noticed a piece of lint or something under my front passenger window this morning. I called SOG and they told me to stop over during lunch. I did and they quickly redid that window for me!! Great shop!!!

This is why I'll be having my tint done by Tom at Sal's shop. Crappy dot matrix would ruin the tint job for me, I just have to get some time to make that long drive lol. On that side window close up above it looks like theres bubbles near the edge?

SOG uses the vinyl for those who want it. The side window pic above actually just looks like dried water marks to me....

Once again, I am completely satisfied with my tint job and the guys at SOG were by far the nicest to deal with when I was organizing the group buy.

there are definitely bubbles or whatever in these pics. he took them immediately after having it done. the bubbles are water and go away by themselves - they said to leave the car outside for a few days in the sun and that it could take up to a couple weeks for the tint to get completely flat/settled
