E92 Sport Pack only Wheels
I was told that the sport package only consist of the 18in wheels with different tires and sport seats
On other BMW's i thought the shocks were stiffer and had a different suspension setup? I ![]() |

On the E92s (US spec), the sport suspension calibration comes standard. ZSP adds the mentioned seats and wheels (still a great value though).

Also speed limiter
In the US, it also includes an increase in the speed limiter to 155mph, I've not hit that yet, but I have seen 150 on the guage(still need to check accuracy), so it is above the 137 std at least.

Sports suspension is not standard on E92 328i or 328xi's, only the 335i (and even that's not standard in Canada). On the xi, selecting the sports pack doesn't give you sports suspension (it does provide seats, higher speed delimiter and the option of 18" wheels).

I love the thicker steering wheel of the sports package. Also, coming from an e46, I can say that the sports seats are more "grippy" and supporting than that model.
I love it.

There are additional difs, look at the BMWUSA site and look under the ZSP option for the 335. Steering wheel, availability of paddles, etc.

Strange differences...
My friend and I ordered our 335 coupes at the same time and while he got the non-sport package, I opted to go sport. I've had a chance to look over both cars side by side and I've given both cars significant road time and I can tell you a major difference that I find to be unexpected and a little strange. The steering wheel on my sport package is a tad less thick than the non-sport, and it lacks the thumb rests/bulges. I would have thought it to be the other way around with the sport package having a thicker steering wheel. The difference is slight, but definitely noticable.
In addition to the sport being a stiffer ride (bigger wheels), the most surprising find it the feel of the steering itself. I don't know if this is a fluke, but neither cars were ordered with active steering, but the feel of the sport steering is actually lighter. In fact, parallel parking with the non-sport steering is a lot more challenging to pull off with one hand, while it is relatively lighter and easier with the sport. I wonder if this is a simple 'minor' variation among different cars, but the diference is substantial enough for me to wonder. Anybody else experience this? |

I have AS, so I can't comment on the steering issue, but my wheel defiantely has the 10-2 thumb bulges. It's pretty thick too, but no where near the thickness of the e90 M-sport wheels or MZ4 wheel. You sure your cars didnt' get mixed up upon delivery ![]() ![]() |
