i usually run no plate but have the bell font plate holder on my car and can throw my plate on in a matter of seconds if i need to
i would suggest something like this or the swift motorsports show n go plate holder as cops gets ticket crazy toward the end of the month

make no mistake - the NJ Popo will get you for this at some point. although it looks so much cleaner - it comes at a price!

Been doing this for almost 7 years with no issues...
Been pulled over once specifically for this... Told the cop I'd had front end work done recently... No ticket... No other issues... Worst case, you carry the plate with you and show it on demand. Worth the longshot $40 ticket in my opinion... |

I've had all my cars to this day w/o plates and never had any tickets for 6+ years and I've gotten 2 tickets last two months so I've put my plate on to be a good boy and get no more ticket.

NJ Police have become alot more strict with no front plates...
Especially since the DMV Inspection rules had become less strict, in addition to the fact that the state is hurting for money. |

i drive the same areas. flemington/pennington mostly.. many PA drivers. i havent been stopped for tints/no front plate yet. going on 3 years of no front plates.. (2 tickets).. never been pulled over for no front plate alone.. both times cop cut me a break for speeding and gave me the plate ticket. $55 is well worth.. for no front plate or tinted windows imo.

Yeah I run no front plate as well. But I do have the BMW chrome plate with the roundel in the middle that my dealer gifted me with. . Also back in the day when I had my 540 I ran both plates but had tints and many a time got pulled over for speed but the officer had let me off with a tint ticket. Its good to have a scape goat just incase you run into a jam with the law and he just happens to be in a good mood. Lol. It can work in your favor but in no way is it guaranteed.

I've been driving around the Jersey City area without a plate for 6 months now and never been pulled over.
I'm always driving in front of cops everyday (passing the holland tunnel on the way to hoboken) so it's not like they haven't seen me without a front plate. I guess it could be because I have NY plates too so can they even issue an equipment violation if the car is registered in another state?

typically police cannot ticket you for an equipment violation if you are registered out of state ... there are certain exceptions between NY NJ and PA

I'm in Bordentown and Lawrenceville all day long and so far in 5 months haven't been pulled over without the front plate. Once a week I drive past local police and so far nothing (though I know it's just a matter of time). I'm absolutely willing to pay the $50 or so for the benefit of no plate. It's so much nicer looking without one.
