Manual mode: Put your left foot on the clutch pedal, put it in first, and then press on the gas while releasing the left pedal.

Automatic mode: Press brake pedal--put the shifter in D---press on the gas and enjoy?

DCT mode: Left foot on brake pedal, right foot hard on accelerator, wait 2 seconds to activate launch control then release brake pedal.

I think people here make this whole "launch" think at the stop-lights/drag strip more difficult and complex than it EVER need to be.

There's one simple factor here. Available grip. To get the fastest launch you simply apply the maximum amount of horse power available to you within the grip available to you. Or simply put, the HIGHEST RPM in the LOWEST GEAR with the MINIMUM AMOUNT OF TIRE SLIP (notice I didn't say no slip). Figure out what that is, and you've got it. How you go about doing it...It's another story all together.
