BHP to WHP
What is the loss % from BHP to WHP after passing through the alt and other components...? 15%?
330bhp * .85 = 280whp stock? 280whp / .85 = 330bhp stock? just wondering |

Seem like 15% is a good estimate since the 335i is rated at 330bhp and Dynos at 280whp.

what does a 12% driveline loss have to do with the HP rating? Dinan is claiming 12%.

There is no real uniformity with drivetrain loss. It will literally vary from dyno to dyno (chassis dynos), no matter if they are similar makes or models. We see stock numbers in the 265-275whp range depending on mostly on mileage. Using the same logic for those numbers would only yield 311bhp stock.
