DEI Shock Sensor Install
So, I've been trying to install this damned shock sensor and everything has gone well except that I can't get the actual siren to sound. Could anyone be of service? I can't figure out how to send an "Active signal" to the siren.
Here are photos of my install: and here are posts in more detail from my previous thread (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...669#post599669) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...69&postcount=1 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...5&postcount=11

nah, I live near there though. I work at the SAN BRUNO RadioShack. Near Tanforan mall....but in a different little plaza: Bayhill Shopping Center. Did you get your shock sensor to work though?

i installed mine in back of the glove department. And spiced the cables from their. Well my brother did. i believe the reason why is bmw needs like 5 minutes for the inside motion to set off alarm. Leave the shock sensor connected and get out of your car and press the lock button to activate alarm from your key, after 5 seconds smack your car anywhere... You should be able to hear it go off. If not hit harder if not something is wrong with your connetion. give it a try and let me know. I'm searching for cheap oem alarm myself right now from work.

unfortunatley i don't have a user name in e46fanatics.com anymore because i cancelled it. Go their and do a search on DEI Stinger, and you find threads about it, find one that has to do with installing it behind the glove department. Read most of the post because i do'nt beleive it was a thread it was a member who posted (redirected) a site to the install and picture on how to do it.

it's a add on to the oem alarm. It will enable your alarm to go off if someone does an impact on your car example Smack, kick, punch, etc..... The BEST thing i like about this stinger, don't know if anyone know is that:
It detects false alarms. Example. 1-Cars with loud mufflers pass by, every other car alarm will go off, but the DEI stinger will not set off alarm. 2-If you sit on your car, it will not go off. BUT, if you smack of punch or kick even the tire, waaa waaaa waaa waaa alarm goes of.

oo icic. i always wondered why our oem alarms didnt have this. so many cars come stock with alarm installed, and then when they are, they have the shock sensors too. why did bmw cheap out so much.

i looked behind the glove compartment an di hav eno idea which wires are which, i'd rather install it in the dome light though, because unlike the e46 the e9x has enough room to place the unit there meaning you'd have true 50/50 coverage, unfortunately ic an't get it to work tho. another benefit to hooking it up to the usis is that it'll turn off when u unlock the trunk so you don't have to unlock the car first or risk setting off the alarm and looking like a fool opening ur trunk ahah.

I got the shock sensor to work today. The problem you’re having is because you are trying to connect the green wire to the motion sensor. I tried both the blue and green and only the blue wire sets the alarm off. I guess the signal from the green is different from the blue. The shock sensor works very well in the headline. Also I put a diode on the green wire from the shock sensor and another diode on the motion sensor to stop the current back flow from each other.
