how to transfer bluetooth call to handset when reach destination?
I am often on the phone when I reach my destination. When I turn off the car, the call remains in progress and I can't switch the car off completely unless I end the call.
Is there any way to transfer the call from my iDrive/bluetooth to my handset so I can shut the car off without ending the call? I know on my friend's 4Runner, when the car is turned off, the call transfers to his iPhone seamlessly. |

You should be able to switch it on your phone. I know the iPhone puts this toggle on the screen anytime you're connected to a Bluetooth.
You could also turn off the car and run away from it really fast, but the range on BMW's Bluetooth is really good. I remember one time a friend was driving my X3 with me in front of him on my motorcycle. A call came to my phone, but he was able to answer it with my car's bluetooth. |

Right, when I use the iPhone to toggle back to the handset, the iDrive still shows the Active Call. While using my iPhone handset for the call, I then try to hold the push start/stop button to shut the car down and it doesn't do anything until the call is ended.

On the BlackBerry's you can press the BlackBerry Menu Button and select Activate Handset. Also at least on mine, if I power off the car, and open the door it goes to the handset automatically.

OK, I'll see if it'll power off if I transfer to the handset and open the door. I'm actually not having a problem taking the call on the handset, it's just showing the call is still active on iDrive (even though I'm on my handset) and the car won't shut off completely until I end the call (whether it be from the handset or iDrive).

This is how my 2007 328 with iDrive also behaves. Figure it's just a quirk.

When I get to my house and I am still talking, I just switch over to the phone, get out the car and lock it. Granted the car is still on when I am walking away, once the car no longer detects the bluetooth, it will shut down.
