e90 335i reasonable price?

Hey, I'm new to this board.

I test drove a 2008 335i sedan today w/ 40k miles, sport pack, heated seats. Jet Black / Black. The service history is extensive, but it is a CPO vehicle.

In the past 40k miles it has gone through 2 clutches, a flywheel, pressure plate, shifter, shifter linkage, BOTH rear half shafts, HP fuel pump, something with the adaptive lights, O2 sensor, etc etc.

Dealer is asking $26.6k.

Should I stay away from this vehicle because of the service history, or does the CPO make up for that?

Any thoughts?

This may help as far as pricing goes.

Many people here on this forum have got great deals this way while some other more adamant ones just don't believe this is a way to arrive at a good price.

Please see post #6 in the following thread. And you can work out the numbers yourself from there on. Perhaps you need to purchase Galves account for ~$10.

I personally have no experience with Service history records of 335i, so I would not give any false advise

Welcome to the forum!

2 clutches? I've driven manuals pretty damned hard, but I've never gotten less than 40K miles from a clutch, much less gone through 2 clutches in that timeframe.
That car was likely beaten VERY hard by the previous owner/leasee - that's a whole lot of drivetrain parts that needed to be replaced. I wouldn't touch that car. There are plenty of other cars out there.

I concur with "iflyjetzzz". The previous owner beat the hell out of the car and/or was a completely incompetent driver. Who knows what other damage was done to the car?

FYI, I recently sold my 2000 E46 323i sedan with 115k miles and it still had the original clutch...
