What would be a good price to pay for this CPO 335i coupe?
I am thinking about purchasing this vehicle, which has a sticker price of $38,500.
It is a certified pre owned vehicle at a local BMW dealer, which includes an extended warranty once the original expires 4 yr / 50k, to 6 yr / 100k. 29,500 miles - 2008 BMW 335i Coupe - Black on Black / Wood Trim Black Metallic $550 Premium Package $2650 Sport Package $1200 Paddle Shifters $100 Steptronic Automatic $1325 Comfort Access $500 Park Distance $350 Ipod $400 Navigation $2100 Original MSRP $51,200 What would be a fair price to pay for this vehicle? |

I paid about $35k for my 2008 335I, CPO w/ 8k miles.
That was 1 year ago. Dealer had it listed for $38k but I know it had been on the lot for several months so they were flexible when it got down to it. GL!

To give you another point of reference, an '07 but only 8.2k mile cpo coupe went for 28k and change in the classifieds recently. A yr less left on the cpo warranty but a lot more miles.
There's also a ton of 07s coming off lease, which is why BMW na has special offers on CPOs now til sept 30. You can have your choice of: 0.9 financing; 3 free payments up to 1,500 total with standard apr/financing; or free extended maintenace

Just to give you perspective. I have that exact CPO car (with all your listed options) except it had 7500 miles and space grey metallic/coral red interior. It also has rear sunshade (~$350) and it is an automatic (~$1500). I also bought this last november for $34,900 from Rallye BMW. I think you are overpaying by alot consdiering its almost $4k more almost a year later. |

Thanks, it seems we've all got some varying pricing on these cars. A $15,000 drop in price for only 6,000 miles on the CPO car seems like a steal, in reference to the previous post.
I ended up paying $32,500 for this vehicle, but I received $15,500 for my 325ci coupe trade in with 68k miles. I was able to finance this for two years at 1%. Because my e46 was paid off it really made this car cheap, but it's tough knowing I might've been able to get it any cheaper based on a few of these responses. Neither of the other 3 dealers in my state had any other CPOs 335i coupes at the time to compare though. BMWs are still very nice cars 5 years down the road, holding onto the vehicle until it is paid off. Had I done a 5 year finance on this 335i (did 2 years to receive new car rate of 1%), the monthly payment would've been in Honda Civic range. |

Blk Sapphire/Saddle Brown Dakota Premium Sport Nav PDC CA Paddles Steptronic ***(No Cold Weather)*** I took the 5 year option to get the payments low. Great rates. |

I find it interesting if you just change the MILEAGE for this exact CPO listed in the OP, we get the following. I know KBB isn't the most credible thing, but this is interesting.
CPO value for this vehicle with only 5,000 miles - $41,185 CPO value for this vehicle with 50,000 miles - $33,525 I'd think the gap of $8,000 for a 45,000 mileage differential at the beginning of the car's life would be a bit more significant. |

30-32k.
I got my 335i sedan, loaded with auto trans, CPO, 34k miles for $22980. It was new years eve, granted, but I have heard of people paying $10k more for the identical car. I did put $4k down, and they dropped it from $24500, the original bargained price, and again, it was the last day of a month (and year)... but that's way too much. |

Why is everyone talking about kbb, it will always overvalue a CPO BMW. Those numbers are misleading, more often than not.

I guess my point is to go towards the end of the month, even towards the end of the day, because when you put yourself in the salesman's shoes he's really starting to think "okay, there might be one, maybe two more people who come in today... really hoping for a sale here". That sounds sort of goofy but in a day-in day-out commission only career like selling BMW's, this is pretty straight forward. Plus, depending on how their month is going, car's move much easier on the last day or two of each month. And there's always wriggle room.
