405lb-ft of torque at the wheels?
Just in case some folks were wondering about the realworld effects our recent round of updates (replacing the XEDE with a PROcede) have had on power output, here's a graph for ya...
This is on our Stg 1 (exhaust and computer) car from earlier today, running 93oct. Dyno results from 2 weeks ago, under nearly identical conditions, were 375lb-ft and 345whp. The only things that changed since then have been our recent updated with our engine control computer (how it controls boost and adjusts ignition timing, specifically). Both setups ran the same boost- 12psi peak, tapering down to 11psi by 5000rpm and then down to 9psi by 7000rpm. Tonight and tomorrow, I'm going to be testing at 4000' above sea level just to make sure there is enough overhead in the boost control system for it make the necessary adjustments. Those beta folks who currently run our Stg 0 kit will see benefits from the new changes. And we will be offering free updates for those kind folks. This will require a hardware change to the Xede itself (replacing it with a PROcede). That means that we will be swapping it out for another unit altogether. More on that later. Gotta get back to work Cheers, shiv PS. To put this in perspective, by 3700rpm the car now is already making the peak power of a stock car (265-275whp). So basically, to drive keep up with a stock car, I'd have to short shift this car at 4000rpm Last edited by OpenFlash; 09-19-2007 at 08:20 PM.. |

Shiv. I don't see a graph but let me get this straight..
With the Xede & Exhaust with 93 octane you are getting 405wtrq with just the new Xede updates? Luke

Just in case you all did not catch what Shiv said about the new update, he will be offering a FREE replacement to all of us early adopters. That is pretty amazing customer service. I think we were all blown away by the early gains from the XEDE, and we all thought it was well worth the money. Now, Vishnu is going to GIVE a new more powerful upgrade. I think most companies would do a little marketing song and dance and try to get the early adopters to pay for a new upgrade.
Say what you will about Vishnu not being a huge company, but I am convinced that Shiv and his team are honest, reliable, and commited to our enthusiastic satisfaction. Shiv has been a phone call away everytime I have had a question. |

And also re-guarding the updates, will the people that are getting them installed from the future going to have them?

I notice the HP curve looks more normal, less of a sharp drop at 5.8K+ RPM than some prior runs. Looking at the A/F, any more power to be made by leaning out a bit > 4.5K RPM? Or by running slightly rich is that helping cooling? |

That's pretty flippin' sweet. That's a lot of area under the curve. That's 40 more lb-ft of torque than most stock LS2 engines make, for reference. |

the drop in boost at higher rpms is because the smaller turbos cant keep up with the demand in volume right?
speaking of volume (zing) can you get a sound clip of the stock vs xede exhaust back to back from same ditance angle w/ the same camera? also did you sneak off to nevada to get the 93 octane or something

I called Calvin today to ask about status on my xede order and he suggested that I watch the board for some exciting news. That is amazing - both the performance and the approach to customer service. While I am going nuts waiting for my xede (had the car since September, ordered in early December as soon as they started taking the web orders) I can see that it is time well spent. Still - you can't expect this crowd to be all THAT patient! After all, we do like to go fast.
I am glad to see the discussion re: exhaust systems. I know another member recently received the Hamann exhaust kit and will be installing soon. I also saw Ultimate Racing jumping in the game by at least asking about preferred configurations. Hopefully by mid Spring we'll have options! And some more damn impressive dyno results! |

This is getting too crazy.
At some point doesn't all this torque become usless? Traction has to be an issue in now 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Is there a way to perhaps reverse-taper boost so that it builds with RPM's...sort of like the centrifugal blowers...so we aren't seeing massive wheelspin? I'm leasing this thing and don't want to have to spend a couple grand on a quaife. I can't believe I'm questioning too much power.
