Driving from North carolina to colorado any problems?
Im flying to north carolina to pick up my 335i coupe. Its a 2007 manual with 35000 miles. Anything i should check or be worried about before i start on my drive home. Its going to take 27 hours total time so two 13 and a half hour driving days. Let me know what you think any opinions welcome

you dont say if its a CPO car or not but check tire pressures obviously, fluids, wipers, lights
Fill it up with a good dose of 93 Octane shell v-power or similar You might want to buy a bottle of injector cleaner and put it in the gas tank at the same time and a good run back to colorado should help give it a good clean |

Check tire pressure, fluids and bring a road atlas even if you are using GPS.
Congrats on the car purchase. |

13 hrs. is kind of a long day, life is too short and it's a big world... why not smell the roses a little bit?
Assuming you're passing through KC, St. Louis, Nashville, I'd at least stop for some BBQ in KC and some music in Nashville. (and maybe avoid East St. Louis) Have fun |

I have a 2007 335i manual, not a mark on it, it's CPO'd with only 15,000 miles on it and am in Fort Collins as well - you should buy mine and save yourself a trip. Oh wait, it's not for sale.
If it were me and I was doing it by myself, I'd make the trip in 3-4 days and see a bunch of stuff along the way. If you want to scoot it fast, can you take a buddy to help drive it?

^ Yeah...good idea to have another person along. Years ago, I drove a used '82 Porsche 911 Targa back from Charlotte, NC with my wife along. I had a friend of mine (fellow Porsche driver at the time) who lived there arrange the purchase for me after he inspected it. Took 2 1/2 days and it was a great trip. Noticed that the oil pressure sender was leaking a bit about halfway, but didn't have any issues at all, and the car was 10 years old at the time. Didn't have a handheld cell phone nor any kind of NAV system, but a co-pilot with a good map was all I needed. Stopped in New Orleans for some good food and visited an old plantation outside of Baton Rouge.
Take advantage of the opportunity to see some of the sights if you have the time - it's definitely worth it. Your 335 should hopefully be trouble-free. I'd also find out about any maintenance/repairs the previous owner had done while he had it. Make a note of BMW dealerships along your route home just in case.

agreeing with all the tire pressure etc. recommendations. i'd say definitely drive the tail of the dragon a couple of times (NC and TN border)... and then take the charahola skyway through TN. it's an amazing drive. congrats on the new ride

I would get a role of painters tape and line it across the front of your car to help protect it from road debris!!!
make sure its painter tape though!

I don't understand why people get so frantic over this! We just pack up the Range Rover and go! Everything is where it should be and is in normal condition, what's there to worry about? If I do break down, it's probably something that broke and not something that I overlooked before we left. I don't know why the whole, "Check your wipers!" It's rained before!!! You know if you're going to need new wipers soon! I really don't get it. Maybe I'm overlooking something?

Why do these thread never have an end??? Did the op get stuck? Did his HPFP die and he is lost in the middle of nowhere and can't be found? Is he still travelling? Did he get all the way there and didn't like the car and still on the bus home? Did he buy the car drive it home with no problems and just like to drive and not post?
