LTB: 335i e90 (Central CA)
I've been stalking this site seeing if I really want to get rid of my '06 GTO for a BMW. My buddy who has a 335i told me about it and I've been hooked a little. I'm expecting my first child Nov. 1st. I'm not even sure how often I'll be using MY car to transport the baby>child>children. But moving to a sedan seems to be the logical choice. If I have to give up my 350rwhp coupe for a sedan, then I want something that can still move. I like the fact that I'll be getting better gas. With the CPO it sounds like I'll be covered for a short amount of time, but long enough to get the kinks taken care of (leaning more towards newer build). I think it'll be cool to have a car with FI. I've always liked the BMW look, but heard about the troubles/problems they can have and how pricey it can be. I've been searching autotrader, cars.com, and carmax every now and then to see what's available. So here's a short list of wants: Blue, Black, or Dark Grey...I dont want AW because that's my buddy's color and I currently have a silver car now Paddle shifters iDrive Would like to avoid the wood trim (I like all the CF trims I've seen people do on this forum) Auto Under $30k and less than 50k miles I'm new to BMWs so please if you have any feedback about the car or what I should get/stay away from that would be most helpful. I bet if I keep reading I'll learn a lot more too. Mods list: #1 JB3 is a must! #2 DC intake #3 Something with the exhaust system. I like to be heard coming and going #4 I/C if the price is right (is this even necessary) #5 appearance (paint, rims, bumper, etc.) Experience: Well I just test drove one. It was rush hour so I couldn't do much on the drive back. The salesman drove it pretty hard to the spot where we switched, but I got to feel the power. It feels quicker than my GTO, but I couldn't get the 0-60 feel. I liked the way the seats felt too. No sliding in my seat at all and I like the steptronic. The guy answered a lot of my concerns/questions. I have a different aspect of what I want now. Paddleshifters are just for show...I'm used to manually shifting the knob and keeping my hands not at 10 & 2. I guess I'll create another post in the general section for more insight. But I'm still looking to buy one anywhere around central cali or norcal...not so much socal. Last edited by byoung8; 09-16-2010 at 10:12 PM.. Reason: Test Drive |
