Lost Item in NY

I recently came back from NY and it was a blast! I went to all the amazing locations and would have came back pumped up but I left my iPhone 4 in the back of a taxi cab the night before leaving in the morning. What do you think the chances are of someone turning in the phone and what can I do? I do not have mobileme so tracking it is not possible. And I did not put a passcode on the phone. What should I do?

I would assume you called it already because that would be the first thing I would do if I lost my phone...Chances of you getting it back are slim to none...Go out and buy a new one...I

Considering iPhone 4's are worth at least 500 on the open market, I'd safely say bye bye iPhone. You need to get one of those iPhone tracking apps for when you get your replacement.

If you have your taxi receipt there is a TLC #. You can call 411 and try that way. I work in a hotel so i deal with lost items in cabbies. Chances are they guy\women are going to charge you a fee to return it and\or already sold it. Hate to break it to you but if someone was like gimme 200 bucks for this iphone 4 i woulda bought it.

i have a 4 too and youd only be safe if you had mobile me! other than that like others that chances are VERY slim

I hear MobileMe is helpful in these situations because you can track your phone (assuming the guy hasn't turned it off)....?

You can add mobile me to any device at anytime if you talk to someone at Apple. It's expensive though...
