BMW wheel wax
So I bought some "Wheel Wax" today at the BMW boutique shop. I have not had a chance to use it because at the moment I don't have a car (Feb 12th), so what am I missing anyone else tried this stuff?

Hey 6speed, yes I have, I bought it from somewhere else, is not branded BMW but is called wheel wax. I DOES NOT seem to repel the brake dust at all, but it DOES makes cleaning the dust much easier, seems that it that brake dust does not stick to the rim as bad. You will have to take each wheel off to do the inside rim which is the part that most brake dust gets. I do a full coat of wheel was every six months, and a monthly coat just on the exterior face. Good Luck with your new machine.

Picus uses Poorboys on his wheels. Look for one of his posts then click on his name and search other posts. Well worth it.
If you're first picking up your car you may want to read his new car prep sticky at the top of the forum too. Lastly, I used Klasse AIO and SG on my rims. I found the brake dust slides right off very easily with a sponge. Rim clean time is at least cut in half. They also have significantly less break dust on them before. Congrats on the new car. Don't let the dealer wash it before giving it to you ![]() |

What color is the actual product? I know all BMW detailing products are re-badged, I'd just like to figure out which it's a re-badge of.

I have heard great things about the Poorboy's.....wheels are still going to get dirty and dusty, but they will clean off much easier. Never done it myself--need to try, as this is one of the most time consuming parts of keeping the Bimmer clean....

Also you guys might try a product called Rejex. Designed as an aircraft coating, it is safe for clearcoated wheels. I use it. It does a fantastic job keeping the dust from sticking. I can actually use compressed air to cleen the wheels. Granted, some muck (tar) will stick from the road, therefore the dust will stick to that, but the wheels are a snap to clean.

Heed the advice from picus, apply it thin. Otherwise it's tough to get off if applied too thick.

What would you guys say is the Best Tire Dressing.
Something that stays a long time and shines pretty good.

I find that meguiars tire gels work the best. They keep the tires from turning brown, and keeps the tire looking great for 1-2 weeks depending on the amount of rain we have had.
