dropped by the stealer today to grab a couple of H8 bulbs, and to my shock they were £25.55 each..

so, went to halfords where they were £10.80 ish each

is the price difference worth it.. not bought either yet, but i was a little shocked.

Are we comparing apples and apples here? AFAIK a bulb is not just a bulb, so yes I would expect that Halfords to be cheaper, but I'm sure you can find Osram and Philips bulbs that are just as expensive as what BMW charge?

Anyway, always good to save a few quid.

well that's the whole question really..

i am thinking no, but is the huge price difference really such a huge performance difference..

i'm guessing the only difference would be longevity as halfords wouldn't be allowed to sell items that didn't illuminate enough.

i think it's prob going to be a false economy tbh.. so will likely just get the bimmer ones

will check osram out first though!

Yeah I am pretty sure they are. Soon after I got my motor I had brake light go and the warning on the dash but it was intermittent and the lights all looked ok.

They just replaced a bulb when I took it in for them to have a look.

Might be time to change mine for something whiter then (If I get the courage to to it, will prob screw it up and drop something into the bumper)

I'd wondered the same thing about the BMW bulbs too.

Bulbs are covered by the 3 year manufactures warranty.
