Wouldn't doubt it. But, they need to put the supercharged 3.0 in the S5 coupe.

The S4 guys are just excited the APR tune has been released. They want to see what their car can do, nothing wrong with it.

The Audi guys are just starting to tune the new S4. It should be great from a dig, with some mods.

I must say after owning many Audis, Audi just doesn't make a car worthy enough to compete with BMW. BMW's are simply better engineered cars all the way around.

I wouldn't say that is 100% true. If you look carefully at the new Audi's, they are definitely highly engineered cars. I have also owned several Audi's, I test drove the S4 a couple months ago. That car is very very good, no doubt about it. A lot better than any Audi I have driven in the past. If I ever need another awd car, no doubt I would get a quattro Audi. Lets not mention the R8, which has better handling/feel than any car BMW makes.

Not to mention I think the S5 might be a better looking car than the 335....and that's coming from a 335 owner.

I personally like the 335 better all things considered, but the new Audi's are awesome.

I agree. I love the looks of the new S5 but it's just so slow compared to ours upgraded. Then again, I'm looking forward to what the new S5's can do with software.

seems like they only put out 360whp~ with jsut the tune. Wonder what kind of levels of boost theyre running and how much more they could do with a different belt and other bolt ons...

only 360AllwheelHP? thats wayyy more powerful than a tune only n54 (especially considering 335i's have way less drive train loss being RWD)

and there is no belt/pulley changes for the s4, the boost is all controlled electronically through sensors and valves. All they have to do is tune for more PSI just like we do.

i feel like a tune only b8 s4 is going to be faster than a tune only 335i

+2. Love the way the S5 looks. Can't find one in these parts, or couldn't when I went to buy one in '08. Got the 335 instead, and I must admit, I love it.

That really is not a fair comparison. Isn't the S5 a luggy low revving naturally aspirated V8?
If you want to compare cars, I think you should try putting the new supercharged V6 S4 into this argument..............your results may prove to be vastly different.

I got to test drive the prototype S4 at MIRaceway in Houston track last year for Audi, along with the S5, 335i, and Lexus hybrid. The S4 is very fast (stock to stock, felt faster then the 335i) and fuel economy is unbelievable (better mpg around the track then even the Lexus Hybrid.
When Audi interviewed me for my feedback my only complaint at the time was how light it felt around the track, the car felt unbalanced at times and things could easily get out of hand, while the 335i was very predictable and easier to drive fast, S5 was no comparison and felt the slowest out of the 3 excluding the Hybrid of course.
But if im not mistaken at the time the prototype had a 4 cylinder FI engine. Not a 6. Maybe they scraped the 4 for the 6 cylinder for production ???

Anyways it was a great weekend at the track (thank you to Audi for paying for my flight, room, food, etc... And of course for letting me romp a million dollar plus prototype around the track (if only you knew )
Maybe I'll return the favor by making an Audi my next car

I think the S4 is a sexy sedan... and the S5 is gorgeous. My only problem is that I didn't likt how heavy and slow the S5 felt, and I want a coupe, not a Sedan. So that rules out both of them.

My dream Audi (affordable, throwing out the R8) would be the S5's body with the Supercharged V6 in it... I just hope they can lighten it

That's a good point, however, considering that there is virtually no weight difference between an A4 and A5 with the same powertrain, and that the RS5 weighs in at over 3900lbs, I would not expect a significant weight reduction on the 2012 S5 with the supercharged engine.

This is a guy from Sweden who races a new Audi S4 with modified software.
The 335 is fully modded with JB3 and meth.

http://www.garaget.org/video/ulxui1n53se3

The owner of the 335 was surprised over how slow and weak the S4 was...

tune is a waste imo on that car since what you really need is a new pulley. MTM has one that looks like its the same increase about as adding a jb3 to a 335i. Once apr come out with something like that it'll be really interesting to see how they perform

Time will tell how well these S4s respond to tunes. At least they seem more reliable than our 335is so far. =(
