Procede V3 - Limp
Hello!
Im new to 335i and to the forum. Just bought my 335i - 2007 E92 - 6MT from a friend last week. He used this PROcede v3 before and put it out before BMW did an warranty job, swaped one of the turbos and right after that I got the car. So today I thought I should put the procede back in and I did. It ran very good, no wierd stuff. After it got warm I did some pulls to about 5.5k RPM w/o any trouble. Okey so.. then I made a more aggresive pull to like 6.8k RPM on 2nd and switched to 3rd very fast and full throttle, next second it limped. I got this Creader Launch, some universal code reader or something, I rebooted the car and put it in, no codes, no errors and I went away just fine. A few minutes later same thing happend again. I can't see why, since this procede worked fine for my friend in this same car just a month ago (but with an earlier turbo gen. but should be basicly same right?) He had an idea about ECU needs to learn in and stuff since it got reseted (when pulling all the cables to it during install of procede)? Any ideas? When driving it feels supergood and pulls really good until limp when aggressivly doing 2nd -> 3rd. No other mods have been done. Sorry for my english and thank you in advance! |

1. Upgrade the Firmware to V4, with it's autotune logic you shouldn't have any problems.
2. While your doing that you should be able to read any codes the PROcede is seeing (its got the ability built into it). So you don't need an external reader, plus with the procede connected, you won't be able to see any codes with an external reader, unless you in Valet mode I believe, so that's why your not seeing anything. 3. Go to the Vishnu website and get the latest interface software and firmware: http://vishnutuning.com/

OP- Do you have a Rev.1 or Rev.2 unit? In other words, is the Procede a black plastic box (Rev.1) or a aluminum finished extrusion (Rev.2)? This will dictate the next step in troubleshooting.

I got a tip from Vishnu to change my spark plugs, I did that today and drove it for like 40minutes without any problems... but then I made a pull and "Engine failure! Power rediced" came up again.. (
5 Celsius outside and just 6-7litre gas left.. Any ideas cuz im running out of them. It runs so good in daily driving but SOMETIMES when pulling a bit more it limps. This exact box has been in this exact car before, but BMW has changed one of the turbos so that is a new one, does it matter? |
