BMW Performance Tuning Kit and other remaps/ piggy ecus
Out of curiosity,
Will the BMW Performance Tuning Kit i.e bigger fan, radiator and BMW remap "work" with other tuners map...piggy back or full remaps... Looks like the "only" weakness (apart from price) of the BMWP kit is the remap, which only provides like a 20bhp increase....shame, because all the cooling hardware they provide looks good!...(big fans and radiators)... |

Hi zltm089,
The JB3 and the JB+ can be stacked on top of the BMW Performance Kit. Sadly the increase in hp is not worth the price of approx £1200 If your worried about the water and oil temps then you can look at an after market Rad. Then you could go further with an after market thermostat if your planning race days or track days. AR Rad for $999 dollars... http://www.ardesign.info/catalog/ard...tor-p-228.html AR Oil Cooler for $899 http://www.ardesign.info/catalog/ard...ge1-p-191.html Overall with this approach you not only reducing water temps but oil temps for approx the same price as the BMW Performance Kit leaving. Remember a factory kit has to retain all the original safety margins and run in all weathers.
It will still need to stay cool when driven hard in the middle east etc in 55degC heat, not something we have to worry about here. |
