talk to any sponsors/participants. they get two entry badges each. other than that, it's hard for regular spectators to come in. it's all about who you know.

+1...most trade shows are that way. if they opened it up to the general public, there would be 5472138957189234789123 people there

Hmmm... that sucks. I'm selling wheels and tires here in Denmark (Bigwheels A/S) but we don't get any tickets.

Here is what I did many years ago.......

Went to my local County office an opened a "mail order" car parts business. With all the permits and fees, it was about $100.

I could then buy parts wholesale at several places...which was cool. Saved me a bunch of money, but you do have to pay the tax on the items when doing your annual sales tax reporting....no biggie.

The fringe benefit is that you are now an "automotive parts supplier" and can be recognized as such by SEMA. I was able to go for several years, and did. The last few years the show has sucked in comparison to the 2000-2005 era...I aint going this year and have closed my business too (got tired of dealing with sale tax issues, permits, etc.). I don't buy enough parts now to make it worthwhile, so that's that.

Just wanted to mention it as an option...it was easy to get into SEMA after I did that....

For SEMA tickets, check craigslist.org .. i get them every year from this guy who advertises on the site. He sells extra badges from companies exhibiting at the show. His name is Joe.

I reserved 2 passes from him this year. I got them for $60 each. I think it's a fair price considering that SEMA isn't open to the public and the passes are good for everyday of the show.

Here's the link to his post:
