Road Force Balance?

Anyone have any experience with this? Necessary? Nice to have? Useless?

Of course the tire shop I use said that he does not have it and does balancing very precisely using his machine.

2009 X6 50i

Thanks

Look for a shop that has the Hunter GSP9700. It's worth it imo.

Road Forcing is definitely worth it IMO! We've had huge amounts of success balancing our packages with our in-house Hunter GSP9700.

The GSP9700 does minimize any kind of vibration issues you may have with the package. Such as tire or rim uniformity, mounting errors, improperly beaded tires etc. The Road Force mechanism puts real world force on the tire package to eliminate most problems a generic balancer may not detect.

i've had road force balance done at both the dealership and an interdependent place and the shimmy in my steering wheel is still there. It doesn't bother me on short drives or rough road surfaces but I drive 2.5 hrs a day on mostly smooth highway and it numbs my hand -(

This could be a number of problems and are unrelated to the GSP9700. Either the tire is out of round (new tires can be out of round too) or your rim is bent. Your alignment might be out of spec, or wheel bearings might be shot depending on the mileage on your car. A reputable shop will be able to diagnose the issue pretty quickly.
