E91 LCI owners - LED defect warning
Just a warning.
I noticed recently that 4 LED's in the rear NS indicator cluster had stopped working. Very occasionally this brings up the bulb warning and the indicators flash quickly, but most times not. (worse in wet weather) You can't buy the LED block, you have to buy the entire rear light for £155! (because LEDs don't fail sir..) So I've booked it in under warranty (along with HPFP) for next week. BUT.... I noticed the light part number changed in March 2010, which is the same date as this US tech bulletin warning of the problem and telling dealers to change BOTH lights at the same time. This means its a defect BMW are aware of. I would reccomend you get them to change them both next time you're at the dealers as they must all be susceptible to the water ingress & corrosion. http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/b630510g.htm Check your LEDs just in case.
