Oyster Gaiter?
Hi Guys
I get my new car on Tuesday with Oyster leather interior. One thing I would like to do is try and get an Oyster gaiter - does anyone know who might do one, done some online searches but haven't come across anything so far. Cheers Darren |

Whatever you do, don't try and dye the gaiter. It won't take. I tried it and a professional leather company tried it and it wouldn't work, it just cracked the minute you used it. BMW must put some sort of finish onto the leather which stops dye soaking into it properly.
There's a company on e-bay that makes quite a few gaiters for E9x and it may be that they can produce an oyster colour. It's a good gaiter but their colour matching is less than perfect. Their cream/beige one doesn't match cream/beige leather - it's more beige than cream but it's still an improvement on black. Last edited by AlanQS; 10-18-2010 at 10:29 AM.. |
