Changed my car!

Good morning boys and girls, long time-no speak.

I just thought I'd drop a quick one to introduce the new motor. I'm back in an E92 but this time a 335d!

Me and the wife went our seperate ways back in July so unfortunately I have had to switch the 135i for something a bit cheaper until the house is sold.

My new baby is on a 56 plate with all the important toys and I must admit I'm loving it so far. I mainly just miss the noise, massive acceleration off the line and the awesome brakes of the 1er but I am very happy with my new tractor.

I've been trying to find a Massey Ferguson sticker for the back window so if anybody knows where I can get one, let me know

See crap Blackberry picture below, thanks for looking.

Sorry to hear about your split mate (from wife & car!!). New wheels look really nice; a bit of a change in driving style needed .

Where abouts are you living now - that shot doesn't look anywhere near your old place.

Thanks for the comments and input boys, much appreciated.

Roger - I'm renting a little old cottage up in Mossley for 6 months, hopefully get the house sold off sharpish so I can get back on the property ladder but I'm not holding my breath!

Andy - maybe a visit to Birds could be on the cards at some point in the future but right now funds dont allow it!

The 135i is a real performance bargin, but I wouldn't be dissapointed with a 335d if needs must.

I was just thinking, have you really saved yourself that much making the change you have...

...off the check AUC...

The prices aren't wildly different; especially is you traded yours in. Mpg can't be too different (potentially worse in the diesel).

I thought the same, 135i to a 335d can't have freed up all that much cash, maybe he just fancied a change!

...gone for sophistication over boy-racer now he's back on the market

I apologies in advance if that comment wasn't truly appropriate

Ha ha!
Sophistication has never really been my thing!

It's all about nip and tuck really - it has worked out to a saving of around £150 a month between finance and insurance.

Also, fuel-wise, since I reset it when I picked it up on Saturday, the OBC is showing 31mpg average, compared with 20-21mpg from the 1er.

I was very happy with the price they gave me for mine and the deal on the big D ended up being pretty bloody good too.

I could have stayed how I was but every little bit of extra money I can get together will no doubt help me in my persuit to find the next ex-wife!

Thanks for comment lads.

21 mpg from the 1er, you must have been hooning it everywhere.

Oh dear, that comment will upset the 35d boys and girls. Surely a petrol [35i] vehicle isn't as fast off the line as a 35d? There might be some brake envy too!

Let the chaos ensue... LOL

I know! I'm just being mischievous, because they (and when I say "they" I mean 335d owners) do seem to be very highly strung and defensive and always have to jump on top of any derogatory 335d comment. Well, always seems that way to me. I mean, have you seen we are now on page 5 of the "No 335d in Evo" thread and they're off again about 335i vs 335d and the pecking order of all 3 series variants. Dear oh dear.

PS Nice car! I like the 335d and always have. Almost bought one, but not quite. Auto persuaded me otherwise. I notice that's an SE; your 335 and 135i's were M Sport?

That's the sole reason I ended up with a 330d previously. Opps, wrong thread...

Thanks buddy

The 335i was an SE and an auto as well, the 135i's are all M Sports, mine was a manual.

To be honest I have missed the auto box, it suits me for 95% of the driving I do and it really suits this car in my opinion.
