Hi Guys,
As the title says, looking to purchase an intake for a 320i. Any info on this topic or of people selling would be great. Cheers |

for any CAI, you need to have a proper heat shield for it to work. BMC is another alternative to gruppeM.

Been playing around with the car this morning and was looking into the intake.
Took it apart to see each part of it and decided to leave the base of the intake out when reassembling. So its just the pod intake with the top part of the airbox attached. Sounds awesome, grunty and snorty, exactly what i was after, dont know if this would affect the cars running in the long term, but sounds awesome. Going to now change the pod to an aftermarket! |

Have you got any pics? Might be interested in going down the same path... I mean, basically, the filter is just getting more air now right? From like where another cover used to be? How hot would that air be or is it a mixture of engine bay air + outside air?

In that link its number 1 thats been removed which is the intake muffler i believe. It would be a mixture of air from outside and engine bay. Regardless sounds awesome and no notice in loss or gain of power... may be smoother but havent really gone for a long drive to notice. Test it out yourself well worth it i reckon, FYI you'll need a Torx screw driver head to undo the air box. Last edited by tj9; 10-30-2010 at 07:50 PM.. |
