E92 @ dealership and pick it up next month

Hey everyone,

My E92 finally arrived!!

However, this is my situation.

I ordered my 335i like late November and expecting to get my car end of Feb. My TL's lease ends in the beginning of March. The SA called me yesterday telling me that it's ready to pick up!!

Do you think the dealership will let me to pick up my car like at the end of Feb? Any comments on the negotiation?

Also, when I signed the offer, it was supposed to be a lease for 36 months. But I'll tell the SA that I'll be buying the car when I pick it up. This way, I think the SA could get more commision (correct me if I'm wrong). Thus, I'll ask for more free accessories....... What do you guys think?

Not sure about that one

I believe the dealer actually makes more money on a lease than on an outright purchase, unless you're going to finance it instead of lease. The dealers in the US get money from the finance and lease deals as opposed to just getting the selling price if it's an outright purchase. Also, if your TL is leased through honda financing, they will take the car back up to 3 months early, at least I know from experience that Honda Financing USA will anyway, we returned one of our employees RSX 2 months early because he quit on us. Good Luck

Thanks for the info!

Actually I haven't decided yet. Right now is winter & snow!! My original plan was to pick up my car after the winter. Ideally end of feb or early march.

Even I can return my TL back early, I still don't want to drive my e92 in the snow. It's so dirty out there.......... my black TL is almost becomes grey now...

I hope this doesn't offend anyone who wish to pick up their cars asap and I would like to pick up a month after.

Thanks again
Suki

If you're worried about the new one seeing snow, what are you going to do next winter, btw, white hides the dirt pretty well and you can always wash it.The other side of the equation is the dealer starts paying floor plan from the day it arrives,so it should be in their best interest to try and deliver your car sooner,so if it doesn't cost you any more to get out of your lease early, go for it ! In Illinois, under certain circumstances you can use a lease car for part of your sales tax exposure, but the dealer needs to buy it ! Pick it up early,it's the " Ultimate Driving Machine "

Let's see if it's possible to negotiate with my SA. I was expecting to get it late Feb.

Any negotiation tricks guys?

That's weird, the dealer would in essence be a warehouse for 5 wks. If I were the dealership I'd go back to econ 101, in which we learned a demand is comprised of a willingness and ability to pay. I am willing to buy a Targa 4S, but am not able. So my demand is non-existent. Since the E92 is a hot car, if you are not able to take delivery, as the dealership, I would cancel your agreement. Just being realistic. This is a new one, where the customer doesn't want the car for another 5 wks!
