E90 DIY HID Conversion

Hi,

I have a 2006 E90 320 M Sport but it has standard halogen bulbs. I recently purchased a HID upgrade kit from www.jdmtoy.com, that they "claimed" would result in no error with the OBC.

Firstly NEVER deal with these guys, they are liars and cheats and their products dont work. I have returned their crap to them at considerable expense.

Has anyone fitted a HID upgrade to an E90 that works fine with the OBC.

Thanksd

Is it just a HID kit with bulbs and ballasts resulting in a very dangerous and illegal light that disperses fkn everywhere? Or does it convert your reflector housings into projectors resulting in a clean cut and much more legal light?

Was it 'jdmtoy' OR 'ijdmtoy'?

I've dealt with ijdmtoy before, relatively expensive but I found the products to be pretty good. I also got a refund from them as well, but I had to bear the relatively high postage cost.

With the kit you got did it have a canbus decoder?

Do not just stick a HID kit into your standard headlight housing!

You need to do a Depo Projector Retrofit then install a HID kit to have properly focused light.

The HID kit had canbus decoders but Im presuming they were not correct for the vehicle. I have heard there are a few out there like the Wide View kits that do work with the E90. Problem is I seem to only be able to get a Wide View kit from the UK and its $$$$.

Do you have any info on a decent HID upgrade that works with the E90 or a projector conversion for the halogen lights at a decent price.

Thanks in advance

Does anyone actually have experience of their reflector HIDs blinding people or is it just a claim that only people with projectors are making?

It depends on the car (the reflector housing for an impala isnt the same as an E90) and the kit to determine if they blind people so I was just curious cuz I'm thinking about HIDs for my Reflector housings.

I have reflectors in my 09 civic and have been pulled over for speeding at night - the LEO thought they were OEM. I had 5000k's on.
