245/40/18's
hello, will a 245/40/18 be an acceptable replacement for a 255/35/18 tyre please? Need to order some winters and this is about the closest I can find in the vredestein wintrac make. Not looking at changing the wheels.

At 60mph your speedo will read 57 mph a difference in diameter of 1.24"

many thanks for the prompt replies. There was a calculator on this site I recall for just this exercise. Will have to take the 30mph speed traps at 25mph, winters should help if we have a cold snap.

yep, I am going from 255/35/18's 245/40/18 on the rears of an E90330D. So for the calculator I keep the wheels and offset as 8.5J for both lines of the calculation.
