E92 Winter wheel/tire fitment question.
Will the following wheel/tire combination fit an E92 coupe without any issues? 17x9 ET40 using 225/50 17 tires. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I'm no tire guru, but a 225/45/17 would be a better choice. According to tirerack.

Seriously, only 1 comment? Can a brotha get some legitimate help here. Anybody? I put the numbers in the Tirerack calculator and I get the following in return: 19mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 7mm. |

I ask the questions you're afraid to ask.

What response are you looking for?
That tire size is incorrect. The correct size is 225/45-17. In theory, you could run into warranty issues because you have intentionally altered the odometer reading by using an incorrectly sized tire. |

225/50/17 is a tall tire. You may have some rubbing issues during compression. The proper size you should be running is a 225/45.
