Question E92 Winter wheel/tire fitment question.

Will the following wheel/tire combination fit an E92 coupe without any issues?

17x9 ET40 using 225/50 17 tires.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm no tire guru, but a 225/45/17 would be a better choice. According to tirerack.

These are already mounted and frankly i don't mind the extra height in the sidewalls. More protection for the pothole ridden streets.

Seriously, only 1 comment? Can a brotha get some legitimate help here. Anybody?

I put the numbers in the Tirerack calculator and I get the following in return:

19mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 7mm.

What response are you looking for?

That tire size is incorrect. The correct size is 225/45-17.

In theory, you could run into warranty issues because you have intentionally altered the odometer reading by using an incorrectly sized tire.

Thanks for the response. Let me clarify; I have the opportunity to buy a set of wheels/tires, just as described in my first post. I just needed confirmation that this combination of wheels/tires would fit without any issues on an E92 Coupe with sport pack.

225/50/17 is a tall tire. You may have some rubbing issues during compression. The proper size you should be running is a 225/45.
