All,

I know this is a stretch, but I figured I would post here as well since there is a lot more activity on the e9x forums, as there are more of these cars as well.

I recently purchased my 2011 e82, and well, because I did not want to wait for the car to be made and shipped, I ended up buying the only 6-mt on the region at the time. The only thing I cared about that the car did not have were the sport seats (no sport pack), given that the rest of the trimming/interior parts can be had easily. It's been hell trying to come across a set of Taupe Boston Leather sport seats for my car, so I was wondering a few things:

1) Does anyone know if the e9x seats are a direct fit for the 1-series? I noticed that my car has airbags on the sides of the front seats, something not all 3-series have. I was at the dealer yesterday and noticed this.

2) I believe the steering wheel and other trim pieces such as the M-shifter and booth are similar on both cars. Can someone confirm?

3) And lastly, does anyone have a set of Performance seats (if I cannot find sports seats this is my second choice) for sale in excellent condition and at a good price? I hear that there are issues trying to get the performance seats airbags to work on US spec cars. Does anyone know if this holds?

Thanks everyone!

Thank you. This is what I needed to know. Somehow I thought they were slightly different.

Are these seats from an E90? I have an '06 325i. What other details do you have? Any pictures?

I would love to believe this, because if this was the case, then my search would be much broader, but from a simple glance, I noticed that some e92 seats do not have the side airbag built into the them. So, questions arise such as: do both cars share the same seats for certain years? Even if they look visually the same, do they throw codes due to airbags being different or incompatible?

match the part numbers
btw I haven't heard of E92's not having seat airbags.

I opened both links up and compared parts numbers...3 parts down the list and the numbers are already different

Also, when I was inquiring about seats at the dealer, someone asked me if I knew about being able to swap e9x seats into an e8x. I went ahead and walked the entire lot, looking at used and new cars, and none of the e9x's had airbags on the outer bolster of the seat with the exception of a brand new 2011 3-series convertible, which has that huge piece on the seat to hold the seatbelt, in addition to the airbag.

If you know something I don't know, feel free to chime in, but I don't think they are interchangeable.

Mmmm, i was going to buy E82 seats but got discouraged cause of the shipping cost. I saw somewhere the part number of the seats as a whole and remember them being the same....but I have no experience so Im not a valid source for your answer....i would try looking into it too since I am looking for sports seats myself...but really, i thought all E92 have the seat airbags, mines an 07 and it has the seat airbags....others should chime in
