In search of flush:spacers or new wheels?
I recently bought a set of VMR VB3/Conti ExtremeContact DWs for my '07 E90 335i:
Front: 19x9.5 ET33 235/35-19 Rear: 19x10 ET38 265/30-19 The front offset/size is more aggressive out front and is out close to the front fender, rear wheels are tucked into the body more than I like. What I want to do is get my rear wheels as flush to the rear fender as possible (I don't want the wheel lip poking out past the fender). Had I done a little more research before pulling the trigger, I would have gone with the 19x10 ET 25 from jump...my question is, in order to get the fit that I want, would I be better off buying new rears or using spacers to push the wheels out as far as needed? Would the ET25 offset wheel alone be enough, or would I still need a 3-5mm spacer to get it where I want it? At this moment, the fronts don't seem to rub, but I'm not 100% sure-might need 3mm spacers. I am aware that fender rolling will probably be needed. Either way, I have to spend more money than I anticipated, but I just want to get the best results for what I'm paying. Since I've already got the wheels on the car, spacers would be the easier route-any downside to running spacers? If buying new rear wheels is a better/safer/more "proper" solution, I'd rather do that (assuming I can sell my existing ones for a decent amount-they've only been on the car about a month/several hundred miles) Any and all help would be appreciated! |

Just try some spacers in the rear.

9.5 +33 with a 235 should not have any kind of issues if you are at sport height. 10 +25 rear with a 265 tire is a hair aggressive, a slight fender rolling may be required.
Running a high quality hub-centric spacer is perfectly fine. There are a handful of members on here running spacers year round, even with track use. I would recommend measuring the gap before going out to purchase a spacer. ![]() -Charles@VMRWheels
