335i stock races

What cars does this compare with stock vs. stock, and what cars should I be beating?

WAY too many cars to list...just do some looking on youtube. BTW most of the people that actually race....mod their car. Good luck finding a lot of stock vs stock races. Best thing to do if you are looking stock vs stock is to archive some car and driver issues or automobile and compare 0-60 times/1/4 mile times. Also probably the most common race is 60ish to 130.(interstate races) Those are the numbers I would really pay attention to. JUST my opinion.

I agree with him, its a totally different car with a tune. Best mod for the money. I would do some supporting mods first so you can run more boost but hey, its all up to you.

I will eventually, but just curious as to what they run with as of now.

I assume I can beat: 350z, G35 coupe, older non-modded mustang GT's, s2000's, etc.

Just wanted to see if anyone ran their car for a while stock to know some facts to support this.

Yes, I can tell you what i ran but I dont know if they were stock. I ran an 08 mustang gt. beat him by a couple car lengths at 125ish, smoked a 350z(stock). s2000 doesnt have much juice over 100. I am about to run a modded s2k with a supercharger here soon. I will let you know how that goes. I ran a v8 s4 and beat him barely good race tho. lost to an 07 vette, highly 05 modded cts-v, thats all I can remember, Ive raced a whole lot more with mods but you wanted stock races...

Yea the car feels quick, definitely quicker than my previous DD (2005 Acura TL), but it needs a tune.

I am thinking JB+ just for ease of access, and being something I can put in and take out myself. Only challenge is if it throws a code, or something happens to the motor, its not like BMS is down the street from me (I live in Miami).

It also says on the website, the pre-2008 cars cannot use the CAN tool, so I am not sure how to diagnose/clear codes if one were to come up.

A stock 335 can pretty much beat a lot of stock cars out there. They run 13 sec. stock and a 13's car is a really fast street car.

There is always a solution if you look hare enough....check out. www.vishnutuning.com these guys are on top of their game IMO. Everything is included, CANtool, speed delimiter, advanced timing, map switching on the fly. Support is very timely. Only a phone call or an email away.

I would rather get the Procede, but there are a couple things that would sway me to the JB+ as opposed to the Procede:

1-Being able to install it without having to pay a mechanic to go into my ECU, and pull out cabling to install, then having to go back to my mechanic every single time I take it into the dealership to uninstall, then going back afterwards to reinstall.

2-Cost is $279 vs. close to $1000.

You can't really go wrong with the JB+. Simple and quick install, decent power gains, and you can pick up a slightly used one for $150 bucks.

I think that if you do your reading, and by reading I mean EVERYTHING about the two....you ALWAYS get what you pay for. And as far as the install goes. It takes an hour if you have no idea wtf you are doing to install/uninstall. As for the dealership, you can set it to valet mode which is like running stock. if you are getting some major work done, I would remove the tune. Thats the risk you take. It doesnt take a mechanic to remove some screws and pop the ecu box off....it just takes some paitence and common sense, I promise.

Seems a little difficult to believe. I know these cars are fast - but an s2000 is like a go cart with a huge motor. When people turbo those things they get like 380-450 hp. If anything, you beat him because he wasn't hooking up the tires....

Ahhh it depends on his mods and whether it was from a roll or a dead stop...etc. But i somewhat agree with you. If it was properly tuned and was running the same general hp, it would be a good race. Where the s2k makes up in weight, we make up in TQ, they have next to none.

And on your pending installs...why would you consider anything other than AR downpipes? Also I would look into the HPF intercooler. I think its the best on the market for various reasons but I am interested in why you wanted those 2 parts.

I completely agree that the Procede and JB3 are worth their money in gold. I can afford both of them, but I am not going to get in the engine bay and start pulling things apart myself. I have several mechanic friends that would do it for cheap, however it is a hassle.

I would never keep it installed and bring it to the dealership even though they most likely would not check to see if it is there. Wouldn't want to risk getting my warranty voided.

I believe I could do it myself, but I wouldn't want to risk putting it back together incorrectly.

I am still under warranty too and I have a list of mods. Its all about who you know. I would try and develop a good relationship with your service advisor and your tech. You wouldnt imagine the doors that open once you have that established.

Good point.

Didn't have a good SA last time, so maybe next time I can do some talking.

Went in to get my rubber strip above my windshield replaced because it was cracking, and they replaced it, but left a half inch gap open on the drivers side. I called him outside and told him he must be kidding me. He then kept the whole-I am going to fix it the right way, just remember when you get the survey to give me a 10.

I had V4 with DCI's back then. The owner of the S2000 claims that he was over 360 hp.
