I'm shocked! I can't believe this 6-puck ceramic clutch is completely gone already. My stock clutch lasted 72,000km. Along with the clutch the CM flywheel and pressure plate are both also scorched and grooved (unusable). I've sent these pics off to Chad@STETTPerformance and he's talking to CM to see if how this can be dealt with under warranty. I had 2 track days with this clutch...My original OEM clutch had seen at least 10-15 track days and managed to last over 70,000km...I didn't do anything different with this clutch than my OEM one...wtffff!?? i'm going broke, first halfshafts now this! geeeez...what do you guys think?

damn. judging by the blued/grooved pressure plate and the scarred clutch disc, i'd say it was probably slipping pretty bad. My OEM clutch went out @ 25k miles on a rather stock car. The BMW shop foreman said I should remove the CDV....planning on doing that this weekend. Maybe the lwfw is a bad idea.

Either way, that should be fully warrantied+goodwill for removal+install. That looks like borderline catastrophic failure.

Well, at least your clutch will be relatively new when you upgrade the turbos.
I hope they mark it as defective and get you a new one comp'ed. |

There is no way this happened to your clutch without smelling it first or some signs... This is really nasty and they will have to think that there is some mistreatment going on. I think it would be noticeable if the clutch was slipping this much?
