Car currently "On Order"...Is it possible to change options??
hey everyone, I currently ordered a 07 335i Coupe in the last week of December and my status is currently "on order". My scheduled production was said to be on Feb. 8 but I want to add the premium package now. Did any of you guys think it may be possible or it is too late? Thanks.

I think it is possible, but you are nearing the point of no return. Call your CA to find out.

Generally, you have until a week before the scheduled production date to make any changes to the order. If you need to change something, you'd better get on the phone to your CA right away.

It can be done. You can change until it's in production, but bear in mind that the more you change, the more chance of errors between CA-->BMWNA--->BMW Germany. Do it now and get the car you want.

As long as your slot hasn't turned to 150 status you can still make changes. But I agree with Gripster about the risk of errors.

It can still be changed, but only change things once. Don't add ZPP now, then change the exterior color in a week. Less chance for error with less changes.

150 and higher status means you're in production. I am guessing you're in 112 status now (one step before 150).
edit: here's some of the major milestones 037 - Order is at BMW NA 087 - Production week assigned 097 - Order sent to BMW AG 111 - Order accepted at BMW AG 112 - Order scheduled for production (last opportunity to make changes) 150 - Production started 151 - Body shop started 152 - Paint shop started 153 - Assembly started 155 - Production completed 160 - Released to distribution 180 - Waiting for export dispatch 193 - Arrived at port of exit 194 - Selected for shipment 195 - Shipped from port of exit 196 - Shipment arrival - ETA

With commentary:
111 - Order accepted at BMW AG "Cool! I am getting a new Bimmer! Wait, how much did I spend?" 112 - Order scheduled for production (last opportunity to make changes) "All right! My status has changed already! This won't take long!" 150 - Production started "Woo hoo! We're really moving here! They're building my car already! Today may be the single greatest day of my life. No, make that the single greatest day of anyone's life! Everybody, be happy for me!" 155 - Production completed "YES! That was fast! I know my car will be here soon now. Things really move so much faster than I was led to believe!" (several days later) 160 - Released to distribution "... um, okay. Well, I have to say that last one took a little longer than I thought. And frankly, I don't know what this new status means. Am I on a ship or what? Yes. I must be. I think I must be. At least we're moving again." (days later) 180 - Waiting for export dispatch "Yeah. Well, that sucks. So I am not on a ship. Thanks for the update that I am waiting. I figured that out already. Now come on! Let's get this thing going again! We seem to have stalled out here. Don't you realize that I've told everyone about the car, cleaned out the garage, ordered and received mods, bookmarked the Owner's Circle website and set the BMW 1-800 number on speed dial?" (several days later) 193 - Arrived at port of exit "Status change! Yay! No, wait... DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! LET'S GO!" (days later) 195 - Shipped from port of exit (Smokes cigarette. Calms down. Goes to the ship tracking website.) 196 - Shipment arrival – ETA (Giddy. Asks for vacation day from work.)

LOL - I would vote for a sticky from someone placing an order and doing a "picture a day" of themselves. It would be a study in rollercoaster emotion: ecstatic, happy, happy, weary, fed up, drained, jaded, angry, happy, happy, ecstatic.

Seriously, the info screen your CA accesses via the DCSnet will have the status codes listed, but alternatively, I suppose you could ask the 1-800 live rep if you really care for it

Can I get A Witness?
I have a VIN assigned, is this a tangible indication that things are accelerating?
I need a sign, the wait is just too much.

Once the VIN is assigned, production on car is already started...yes things are definitely moving forward The next hiccup will be awaiting transport.

Owner's Circle seems to be updated weekly (if that), so it can lag several days from the actual status. The 1-800 number seems to be updated each morning, so it is rarely more than 24-48 hours off the actual status.
