HKS ssqv bov problem
I just bought a HKS ssqv bov from Vividracing and installed it about a week ago.
My problem is, it seems that under high boost 13 to 14psi and high rpm around 6000rpm shifting from 1st to 2nd and also shifting from 2nd to 3rd the blow off valve sounds like just a chirp, as if the main valve is not opening and just the smaller valve. The BOV has no problem with low boost 1 to 9psi and low rpm 1500 to 5000rpm blowing off. I did some datalogging with my Procede v4 and it looks like when you shift and get off the throttle where throttle reads 0 shouldn't boost also read 0, since the boost pressure was released. My logs show when i let off throttle to shift there is still 4.5lbs of boost is this normal. I used to have a turbo Integra many years ago with the same HKS BOV and dont remember it doing this. Sorry for the long read just want to get all the info out there for the best possible suggestion or answer. Thanks everyone, David |

the 'drive by wire' factor can play a part in a delay between your right foot and the throttle blade closing....FWIW, my BOV doesn't open at all during fast shifting.

Isn't that the bog fix... when you're in the top of the band and it holds boost in between shifts so long that you let your foot completely off of the gas?

yeah i noticed something like that with mine. Im like 90%sure its just valve open all the way. As long as the air has a place other than back into the turbo its all good.
