BOV selection
Yes I searched, and it seems everyone has an opinion. On either to upgrade the DV's or switch to a BOV. I know our cars (N54) are MAP, not MAF so recirc is not required. I'm not really doing it for the sound, just the fact that I will be upping the boost and tuning. Has there been any issues with one long term? I wnt something reliable. I'm going to go the BOV route. Could care less abou the sound. I want a good performing BOV. The HKS seems to have a nice design where the boost helps keep it closed. I used to have a TurboXS on my Supra and it was cool, but I'm looking for something much quieter/refined. By design the HKS has the RFL whooped.

There will be no problems, some people get DV's because they dont want to hear the sound of a BOV all the time. HKS will be very loud, if you want something quiet with not such a high pitched tone, look at synapse, Tial, or AA. I personally like the AA, but it is pretty loud.

You can't really go wrong with any of the kits. I suggest you go through the vendor forum, and pick up whatever fits your budget. Good luck

If you plan on running high boost Forge DV's are probably your best option. I have the HKS, but I'm not running nay crazy mods.

after watching some youtube videos on the synapse, i didnt want to go with them. in all their videos you can hear the compressor surge. HKS is an industry standard, SSQV3 is the best one they have made, there are no springs to mess with, and its guaranteed to hold boost and not leak.

I've read the opposite. I've heard that running high boost you should be setup with a nice BOV kit(HKS synapse) and a charge pipe that utilizes the stock clip to hold it on. Thats just what I found in my research, others may have diff opinions.

Make sure you get a charge Pipe with the Valve located the nearest to the Throttle body for faster response (the "OEM" revized Synapse chargepipe takes care of that issue, just make sure you get the new Valve SB001A which has the port C Internally and not some older version that some stores might have in stock) Or else you're second option should be the HKS... Cause all you basically want is a "care-free" installation with no "service" every now and then.

Pretty sweet setup, nice how it integrates into the OEM Diverter Valve connectors. What does this run?

If what you're going for is the sound, then the HKS SSQV BoV is what I would recommend for you. The HKS SSQV BOV definitely has a very unique sound with racing heritage dating back to 1994 when it was first introduced. Here's a video of the HKS SSQV for you to check out!

HKS is a Solid company. You can't go wrong, and its a "carefree" instalation. Synapse is as good.
